Hi. My name is Krysta. I am a nursing student and I recently welcomed a flashy reverse brindle female into our home. Kit is almost 9 weeks old and is everything I have ever wished for in a puppy!! She is almost completely house trained, gets along with the cats, loves everyone she meets, listens well with the few commands we have begun to teach her (come, sit, down), and is already crate trained! I have been obsessed with the boxer breed for quite some time, as my girlfriends parents have always had boxers, but this is my first boxer. I am hoping to use this board for advice and general knowledge if I ever need it. Nice to meet you all!!!

Hi and welcome from another Rochesterian (I saw in one of your other posts you are in Rochester). Congrats on your new baby! Maybe when she gets a little bigger we can get a play day for her and Gypsy, and anyone else in the area we can round up.

Welcome from another NY boxer lover. We are are in Long Island.

Sounds like you little girl is doing wonderful and sounds so boxer-ish too. We got our first boxer, Nestle over 2 years ago and have fallen madly in love with the breed and just got our second one; our little guy Porter. They are truly amazing and totally insane. BW is wonderful and filled with so many knowledgable people who are so happy to help. I would have gone nuts without this place.

Congrats on your newest addition.

Soon moving to NYC area!

Well I grew up in Queens, NY, but our family moved to Rochester around my high school years and my family is settled there still. Right now my partner and I are at school in Ann arbor Michigan. We have only been here for 7 months and really miss NY so we both transferred for the fall! In other words we are moving back home in August. I am transferring to Stony brook or Hunter college (I can't decide)for Nursing and she is transferring to Columbia University for her masters in Social Work. So we will be living either in Queens or somewhere between Stony brook and Columbia! Hopefully we can live near a nice park with other nice doggies to meet! I really want to rescue my next boxer, but that is sometimes difficult when you have cats. I have noticed that the ones that are always available for adoption dont like cats! Oh well, when the time comes I will worry about that. Hey check out my post/question in the behavior forum!!! I need a little advice on the cat/dog socialization!

DH and I grew up in Bayside Queens. Love Long Island but miss the city so much. I worked in the city for over 10 years but left once I had my son. My husband is still working there. Oh, Hate the LIRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great dog parks all over.

Good luck with the move. You must be so happy to be coming home.

Welcome to Boxerworld. Once you've got the boxer bug, its hard to think about anything else. Look forward to seeing you around!
