GREAT With Kids !!

We have two small children, ages 2 and 4...and we're expecting our 3rd child in November. Needless to say, it was VERY important to find a breed that was good with children.

I have always wanted a Boxer, and hearing how good they were with kids convinced me to finally get one. We took our kids along to the breeders...and our whole family fell in love with Dakota.

She's only been with us for a couple days, but she is GREAT with the kids. I honestly think the happiest part of her day is when they come and get her in the morning...her nubby little tail wags for an hour !!

I always love hearing others realize how loving and intuitive boxers are with children. It's been over a year since I visited this website "begging" for a boxer puppy to adopt - Greater Ohio Boxer Rescue came through for us and we got our doll baby Blake (brindle male) 1 year ago this past MONDAY! He came into our home of 6 kids and has become the love of our youngest's lives. We adore him! He has helped several neighborhood children overcome their fear of large dogs because he just seems to know how close he can get without "invading" someone's space - especially if you are a very little someone.
Blake melts my heart when he plays with our children-he loves them so much and when a stray kitty found it's way into our lives in June-our 60lb. dog allowed the kitten full access to food, toys, you name it! He even sits and watches as baby fawn deer enter our yard to nibble - Boxers Rock!!

We have 3 skin kiddos and 2 boxers, and in my opinion they are the greatest breed for kids. Our dogs love being with the kids and seen to know when it is time for school to be out. When the kiddos get home those "nubs" get outta control!

How soon till your new baby is due? Noticed you havent been around lately, is it b/c you've had some long nights with 2 and 3am feedings?

Mandy...LOVE your quote about lefty's. I haven't heard that one before but will be sure and use it when someone inevitabley says"Oh I didn't know you were left handed.Your dogs are gorgeous...the smaller of the 2 reminds me of our Fenway when he was a baby. Frazier our little girl is sealed brindle(black) with white.
