My wife and sister just went to a doctor that uses a computer to test you for all kinds of
different conditions. It was expensive, but she has a good friend that went and they found 9
different parasites in her and took the medicine and is doing great.

It is a test where you hold a sensor in your hand and the doctor touches different parts of
your body with some sort of probe, and it tells you what is the problem. Michelle (the friend)
had 1 type of parasite that is from the middle east and the doctor did not know that she had
lived in Iran when she was little. Maybe it does work, I don't know.

But, I told you that in order to tell you this. They found out that my wife has 2 kinds of
tapeworms and also heartworms. He asked if we have a animal in the house, and she said "Yes,
a 2 year old Boxer named Cash". The doc also had a Boxer and they talked about the love of
the breed and he said to never let them on the bed, or to lick you anywhere on you, or you
may get a worm or parasite from them. Does he know the breed at all??!! They love to be
next to you and show affection constantly. That would be harder than it sounds.

I don't trust the guy with a computer to tell me that she has all these problems and wants
you to buy all this medicine from him that added up to $480.00 without a real diagnosis.

What do you guys think?

To me it sounds like a scam! Yes Ive heard the stories of not letting dogs sleep with you for one reason or another, but that sounds crazy. I personally would be looking for a second opinion. There has to be another way to tell (maybe a blood test). (oh and nice to meet you! a fellow Arkansan!)

I agree something is fishy here... My boxer girl had worms and went on meds and then was all cleared up but the vet never told me I had anything to worry about, and I was fine. Of course you have to diligent about cleaning up after them and making sure they finish the meds. We belong to a walking group and all the dogs were tested and none of the others had a problem. If dogs sleeping on beds or "kissing " us made us sick I would probably be dead

I also say its a scam. If it involved stool samples and blood tests......maybe I would believe it. I'm also almost positive that most types of worms that pets get are not transmittable to humans. There is 1 exception (pinworms?) that is usually found in children only.

I bet the "doctor" doesn't have a boxer. His next patient probably said "I have a poodle" and he said he did too.

If your friend is really concerned, I would recommend a regular dr or internal medicine specialist.

Just doesn't sound right. Don't you think if this was a good form of medicine that everyone would use it? Plus, like ELubus said, if what this doctor says is true I would be dead. Ozzy and Vinny both give very sloppy kisses and both love the bed. Don't waste your money on this weirdo!!

Me too. These are things I am not willing to give up even if they gave me hundreds of worms. My boxers give the best kisses in the whole world.

Yes... I think I'd be a little concerned and weary here too! Even when my cat had worms... my vet stated there was no alarm for concern as far as our health goes. I can't imagine that it would differ for dogs! ;)
