TugsMommy
Boxer Booster
She is a 6-8 year old boxer. She has a rather sad story, and I couldn't resist her, becuse I couldn't in good faith let her be put in the pound again.
She was a breeder dog for a puppy type mill place. Once they got all the puppies out of her that they could, they dumped her off at the pound. She was then adopted to a military family with 2 young childern and a mini-datsun. They had never had a big dog ever(she may not be big, but compared to a mini-datsun she is huge). They hated the shedding, and the shadow like tendancies. They also don't like how much she likes to play. They wanted a dog that was seen and not heard. My dh found the ad for a free boxer on the local classified listing for our area. He told me about it and I called the wife. The wife told me all the stuff I listed, and he is like, we are going to take her.
So tonight we met the guy and she jumped out of the truck and came right over to me and gave me a big slobbery boxer kiss. That was it, I was sold right then and there.
I got her shot history and felt her. I found a lump on her undersdie and he told me that she has had it for awhile, but they couldn't afford the biopsy for her(400+) so they didn't get it.
I am going to take her to my vet's get their opionion on how to handle this lump whether the whole thing needs to come out or if they can do a needle biopsy.
The socialization with Tuggy has been intersesting. Alot of growling, and snarling from her, and him wanting to play. We are doing short period of socializng with the two of them. Tonight she is sleeping with us and we will worry about a crate at a later time.
So am I a softy or what? She may be an older girl, but she deserves some lovings also after a tough life. She has attached herself right to me, and at this moment is sitting on my feet.
I have taken a picture of her and will load it to the album.
