I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy to face this with a beloved pet. I am so glad that you were there. My heart aches for you and my tears are for your pain. I am so very sorry.

Thanks once more...

Thank you all so much for your kindness and concern. With all the mayhem in the world today, you people are a solid reminder of love's presence. Purdy and I are doing well, all things considered. I'm glad I was there so I know how quickly it all happened, I'm not left wondering if or how long he suffered, or what Purdy went through in the process. As much as I miss him, there's a certain rightness to his dying at home with Purdy and me by his side, and my sons away at their dad's. No panicked trip to an emergency clinic...no prolonged suffering...aside from more years with him healthy, it's all I could ask. Purdy has been looking for him, but she doesn't seem depressed. She clearly misses the physical contact, they were almost always side by side or piled on top of one another, and she typically "washed" his face every morning - so now she wants to "wash" mine! Oh my... So again, thank you ever so much. We two gals will carry on in the manner Gilroy would wish us to, and I'll smile as I picture Gilroy romping with all his new friends at the bridge. Have a wonderful day, and give your furbabies a squeeze from all 3 of us.

I'm so sorry about Gilroy. May he and Timber have a never-ending Boxer Playday with cats that liked to be chased and trees that need to be replanted.

You are in our thoughts

I am so very sorry for your loss. May you cherish the last few weeks you had together - that is so wonderful you had the chance at that time. I know how special it is to have one last Christmas together, as we had the same thing happen with our Zeus.

I hope your Gilroy is now with our Zeus, in a most beautiful place with no more pain or suffering.

I am hoping that each day will come a little easier.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Godspeed Gilroy.

Linda,

I am so sorry for the loss of your Gilroy. I did not expect to log on and find this news! My heart aches for you. I hope you are consoled knowing that you were able to spend quality time with Gilroy before he left this world. Your love for him will keep you strong.

Godspeed Gilroy. You will be dearly missed.

Sorry again....

Sorry again about Gilroy. For anyone interested, theres a good book about pets and the afterlife called "Animals and the Afterlife: True Stories of Our Best Friends Journey Beyond Death" author Kim Sheridan.

Thank you so much. I just wanted to let you know that Purdy and I are doing well. She has adapted to being the only (spoiled) dog and really seems ok.
I had a couple very sad nights around New Years when it truly hit home, but I'm better now. I miss the big guy...but as endings go, it was about as good as it gets. I had some warning, yet he went quickly when the time came.

God Bless.
