Hello all!
I just thought I'd spread a some good news. I'm a foster home for boxers over in the San Francisco Bay area, and for the past two weeks, I've been fostering a 1 year old flashy fawn male, Barry. Unfortunately, Barry was abused at some point and was quite distrustful of people (but wasn't the type of dog to fear bite). The thing was, he loved to be with other dogs and play just like any other dog. He looked so happy playing with his doggy buddies! Barry made great improvements in the following days as far as trusting me and my roommate. He even started wagging his tail when we came to pet him. He started to come when you called him. It was really a great thing to see. Two couples wanted to see him but didn't adopt him because of his apprehension towards new people. I understand their reaction.
Then ML called and wanted to meet Barry. She also owns a Persian cat and a big 116 pound male lab named Ralph...Barry weighs about 55 pounds. She brought Ralph over when she came to meet Barry. Ralph and Barry hit it off and they started playing. ML fell in love with Barry, who warmed up to her very quickly. He even went over to her to lick her hand at one point. ML decided to adopt Barry. When I was walking Barry to her car, Barry and Ralph lifted their legs on the same bush in unison...for some reason it reminded me of a mens urinal
I got a call recently from ML and she said that things are fine. She introduced Barry to her cat, and they get along fine too. It really makes your day when you see a good dog like Barry get a good home and you get to meet good people like ML.
