Well, I have been looking at this forum for years, and finally decided to join.
I have been living with Boxers for about 8 years now, and I can say that they are the most wonderful breed that I have came in contact with!
My first Boxer was a guy named Tiger who I purchased through a back-yard-breeder. I just didn't know any better, but loved him just the same. Next came Tina, a beautiful, sweet little girl from a very reputable breeder north of here. And my most current addition - Elvis, is another beautiful boy (but a little rascally) from another reputable breeder south of here
Since I have two small kids, I did my research on breeds, and I can say that the Boxers hold exactly to what is written. There is nothing more special, than watching kids & Boxers play together...well maybe watching Boxers & kids rest & hold each other!
While my latest addition (Elvis) is not a therapy dog, he has spend a few days at my kids Elementary school for "show & tell". Every time we do that, he is pulled in nearly every classroom by the teachers for introductions. I believe that his favorite is & always will be the Kindergartners! He just lights up when he sees the little ones.
Well, the reason I keep coming back to this site is due to the grief that we all seem to share with this breed. My first was lost after he underwent surgery for a ACL tear. He was lost 3 days later to bloat, 2 years ago. My second has just been diagnosed with Lympho Sarcoma, and I have been using this site as a starting point for research. It makes the tough decisions better (not any easier) knowing how others had worked with this dreaded disease.
I am currently taking lots of pictures of this wonderful girl, and promise to share
