hello everyone. I am going to be a new boxer owner after tonight. is ther eanything I should ask the breeder? she said she has all the paperwork from the vet for shots and de-worming. I am chosing between 2 males both of which came from the same litter and are just over 8 weeks old. I have all the training aids printed out already from boxer wolrds main site. Should he be on solid food yet and if so I am guessing not a big kibbel. well it's my lunch time and I am heading to petco to go get some toys. Wish me luck and I will post some pictures when I get him home.

In my very UNexpert opinion, I agree with picking one that may be a little more "laid back".....(but not AFRAID)...unless you would rather have otherwise of course. I know we picked the one that didn't run up to us right away. Our puppy kind of chilled out at first :) then after a few minutes (after his bros/sisters freaked out running and jumping all over us) slowly walked up to sniff us :) We knew right away! Even though the excited ones were just as irresistable, it has paid off for us so far! Even though Boozer was the last one to come check out all the commotion then, he is very vibrant and full of energy now -- same as the others. The only difference between him and his brothers/sisters is that he isn't as dominant and hard to control.

HAVE FUN!!!! I'm so envious of you right now! I was like a kid at Christmas the day we went to get ours!!! Post some pictures!

Oh how exciting!!! I too, am jealous. I absolutely loved the puppy stage. Of course, my two Boxers make me happy and surprise me with cute antics and the smart things they do every day. They melt my heart and make life much sweeter. There's nothing like being loved by a Boxer! I wish you and your new baby ALL the best!! Karen Mom to Jake and Cleo

thanks lady's and gent's. If it was up to me i would take both of them but money now is just a lil tight after moving into a new place and everything. But would there be any problems with getting another puppy down the road say like 4-6 months? Because i would really like to own 2 boxers. I am not looking to breed them but just love the company of dogs. Growing up in PA and having my closest friend live over 2 miles away if the new puppy is anything at all like my 1/2 lab 1/2 keeshehound id be more then thrilled. I will surely post pictures within a couple days.

how cool!

good luck choosing. we personally picked a real hyper one. it has been pretty interesting in training her since she is really stubborn, but i love her individual personality. as far as asking the breeder questions, check on things such as hip problems, skin cancers, although i'm not sure the cancer thing is something that runs in the family. wouldn't hurt to ask. i'm super excited and jealous of you. good luck and post pictures. oh yeah that's another thing take lots and lots of pitures cause it goes by way to fast.
