Boxer Pal
My other dog is driving me bonkers. He is a 5 yr old male unuetered toy fox terrier. Lucy is 3 1/2 months old and I have had her for 2 weeks now. Jingles actually fits under her. The day we brought Lucy home Jing did what most males do....licking her and humping her and as my kids were saying "Hey red rocket" After that first day jing was fine and they get along really well. Lucy's crate is in my bedroom and Jing sleeps with me. This past weekend Jing has plumb lost his mind....First of all he will NOT leave her alone, he will hump whatever he can reach on her, I can deal with that but he turned into the dog from hell...he has gotten aggressive, My 2 daughters and 3 yr opld granddaughter live with us...Jing has always been fine with Hope and Lucy just loves her. But now if Lucy is in the crate Jing will not leave the crate and we can't go in the bedroom without him attacking us. The first couple times he wasn't too bad and it was mostly my 20 yr old whom he doesn't like anyway. But Saturday night Hope tried to go in to say good night to Lucy and Jing came at her so Ashley (Hope's mom) went to grab Hope and he went for her. I got up to hollor at him and he came at me, of course I grabbed a magazine and swatted him which just pissed him off more, the funny part was he actually backed us both down, I am very ashamed of myself for this but hey I was never a little dog person.
Jing was banished to the basement for the night and the next morning he was better until Ashley went to get Lucy to take her out in the morning, then it was the same drill. Morgan, my other daughter was able to get him into my bathroom and locked him in there. If I even hollor or give him a stern look he starts growling. As much as I don't want to get bite I have 3 grandchildren the youngest is a year old. I am really afraid that he will bite one of them and I don't understand why after 2 weeks he is acting like this. There is a female next door that is not fixed and he is fine with her and also with the spayed female across the street. I tried to go in to go to bed the other night and he wouldn't let me in my own room. Tonight I let them loose for awhile and he was ok if we went near Lucy but if he tried to lick her or hump and I said " Ach" He started growling at me. They had run into my room cause his food is in my bathroom and I went to see what they were doing and walked into my room and he started growling at me. Help!!!! I actually am looking for a rescue for him or it's spca here he comes.
I had a male dog before a cane corso and he wasn't like this with my unspayed female that I used to breed.
The only time he would get pissed before this was if he got out which he used to do on a regular bases as he is so small we would walk in the door and he would run out and you wouldn't even see him go, but when i used to go get him he would growl when I picked him up but if I hollored he would stop. and by holloring I don't mean I am shouting like a nut.
Will neutering him at this age help at all?
Sorry this is so long.
