Hello from wet central Indiana, I'm Pam, mom to 13 month old Angel. She is a very loving brindl, who is currently "in heat". This is our 1st boxer & I dearly love our "baby girl". When we first got her, I found this great site but soon after had to go off line....oh how I missed BW. There were many times I wished I could log onto BW for help, but we made it. LoL Never posted before but sure I will be this time. Hope to share pics in future of our Angel, as she loves to show off. Kevin, my husband, & I, plan to breed Angel next time around. Oh how I look forward to that. Her daddy is currently away on hunting trip (deer season) & she has been mooping since he began packing. So glad to be back at BW. Huggs

Pam -

Welcome to BW! This is a great community and it's great to have Kevin, Angel and you here.

There is tons of information on breeding on this board, please look through it and make yourself aware of the intricacies of breeding. Breeding can become a very heated topic on this board.

www.boxerworld.com/breeders is a good place to start. I would also suggest contacting your local boxer club so that you can find a mentor that can guide you and give you tips on breeding Angel.

I agree that breeding can be a very heated subject here.

I also plan to breed when Samson and Delilah are about 2 years old. I do not think that I have disclosed this before...I am pretty quiet about it.

I have done extensive research on breeding, including meeting with other responsible breeders. The information on the link given above is very good. The "are you a responsible breeder?" quizzes are very good...especially those that make you aware of the costs and possible heartache involved. The virtual breeding tours are good too, if you can find one. They lead you through the "what if's," and make you very aware of how serious your decision to breed actually is.

I agree with several important issues regarding breeding, including (but not limited to): health testing, dams/sires meeting the breed standards, temperament, finding responsible homes (I will be extremely picky). I find it very important to ensure that any potential boxer puppy owner knows the breed well...either they have experienced life with a boxer, or I will give them FULL details of the breed myself. Either they are prepared and responsible, or they don't take a puppy to their home.

Okay, enough said, I just don't want to be tagged as a BYB. I do not plan to be one.
