rabies shots

From my reading on vaccinations I was under the impression that the one year and the three year rabies vaccine are one and the same. The labeling differences are in relation to the studies done to determine if the vaccination provided protection at 12 and 72 months respectively. A search of the internet should confirm this.

Boxer Booster
There are 1, 2 and 3 year rabies vaccines. The state of maine doesn't recongize the 3 year vaccine, although it is available. Depends on the state you live in.

Yearly heartworm testing (which should be done) covers the check-up.

Many vets will not "recognize" owner-given vaccinations, and if your animal ever needs urgent treatment they will insist on vaccination before treating. (Stupid in any case!) Be sure that you know ahead of time what your vet's policy is.

The 1-year and 3-year vaccines are the same, with a different label. There are no vaccines that have a recommended 2-year booster period.

www.caberfeidh.com has information (in the Holistic section in one of the Vaccination articles) about purchasing single-dose vaccines. I'm not sure of the brand.
