This year I have decided to give my families gifts to the boxers. By sponsoring a Boxer or donating to your local Boxer Rescue, you can give a gift that really counts this year. So if your running late with your holiday shopping or just haven't decided what gifts to give - give the gift of love. Donate or sponsor a Boxer and help save a life!! The Boxers thank you!!

You said it!! We are so overwhelmed with boxers right now in California and Texas its unbelievable!! This time of year is typically busy, but this year has been especially hard! Sponsoring a boxer is a terrific way to help rescue at the same time giving a wonderful gift :)

Oh yes, in the last few weeks we have skyrocketed to over sixty boxers in private foster homes looking for a family. And unfortunately there are MANY waiting to come in with their time almost up.

In Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, & Nebraska we have the same problems. Too many dogs in our programs, too many waiting to come in, as our foster homes are full.

This is a great idea, donating for the holidays.

Yeah, I think it's bad all over.

What is it about the holidays that makes people think, "Hey, you know what would make Christmas perfect? If we got rid of the dog!"

I think you hit the nail on the head with this comment. People think of dogs as disposable...

And then there are those like my neighbors, I secretly refer to them as "The Neighbors Of The Corn". They grab any and all strays, tell people how they are such great people for taking these dogs on, and then tie them up with a grand total of 5 minutes of attention per day when they dump some Ole Roy into their bowls. Right now they have about 13 dogs with no shots, and about 17 cats that run all over. She and I have agreed to disagree on certain aspects of this. I consider her strange and she considers me snooty. She also thinks I'm a nut cuz my dog lives in the house.

I guess I am naive since I thought this would be the time of year that the rescue leagues numbers go down since a lot of people give dogs as gifts. I know it wouldn't be an impulse buy but it is the time of year that many people consider opening their homes to a new pet.

Hopefully after the holidays my search for my house will be fruitful so we can open our (new) home & heart to another boxer. I am too afraid to get another while renting...I keep looking at the rescue web sites and I can't wait to adopt. Mason, 3 1/2, would love it if I got him a new brother or sister....maybe next Christmas! :D
