We are thinking of getting Sammy a friend. Would a girl boxer be better then to get another male? Or does it matter with boxers?

In my experience male /female is best, then male/male, and lastly female/female. I have always had male /female and they all got along great. Good luck with your new addition :)

You could go either way. I see in another one of your post you are thinking of a rescue baby? When you go to meet a rescue baby it would be best to take your Sammy with to find the best match. Best of luck to you :)

Thank you for your reply. Yes I would like to rescue one and give them a loving home. I think we will go with a female, we did that with our last dogs (chows) and they were inseprable.

I have 2 boys the get along great I would ask your rescue what their policy is I know the one in Ontario matches girl to boy. I adopted a boy from my breeder that was older I wanted two males but would have taken a female if the rescue came up with one. For some reason there is a very long wait here.

Good Luck with your Rescue!!!!

i've got 2 boys Butch is 1 yr 8 mos. neutered...and Bullet is almost 8 months, not neutered...they love each other to death....Butch never gets along with females....actually, most females are really rough and agressive with both my boys. I'd say 2 boys! Those damn females are always too dominant....just like with PEOPLE! haha...right ladies?!

Nice Butchiesdad!!!! Our female is dominant and bossy! You described her to a tee and she can kick some butt! But her love and kisses are unparalleled. We are getting her a brother, her mama is pregnant and we are so excited about the male/female combo!
