Molly ( who was 1 yr old on 5th August) seems to be getting more and more disobedient and domninating as she gets bigger. We are getting to the end of our tether with her. She charges around like a lunatic. When we take her out she just jumps at us with her paws and starts growling and biting. Hence ealking is now a chore instead of a pleasure. We have tried everything to no avail. she just isn't getting it at all. We have ignored her behaviour, given her time outs, no treats, but still she carries on regardless. If we ignore her for too long she just barks and barks in a most annoying way as if to say "how dare you ignore me!!"
help is needed or I will be getting rid of her (and don't dare tell me I have not tried and I do not know what boxers are about and have not researched enough etc etc, because I knew boxers needed training, patience, could be boisterous etc but she is just downright bossy and she knows it!) We are all using the same techniques at home, so there are no conflicting messages being given to her so if anyone has any bright ideas I wold be eternally grateful.

Having said all of the above I love the silly sod to death and when she cuddles up to me at night on the sofa.................well...................bless!

How much exercise does Maggie get daily? I don't so much mean walking on a leash sort of exercise, but rather good hard running sort of exercise. Do you take her to any regular training classes?

Boxers in general need at least an hour and preferably two or more of good hard running every single day. They also need mental stimulation - which is generally well provided by lots of training/games and regular classes. Most especially at this age, the teenage terror boxer can become a good boxer when physically and mentally challenged ;)

Exercise is so important and makes a huge difference. Mine walk for over an hour a day, an off lead run where possible. I hope you don't rehome Molly, with some patience and perhaps training classes I am sure she could become the pet you wanted her to be :)

I find this age up to about 2-3 years the toughest. Puppies are puppies but these adolesents are brutal :) My girl (16 mos) is a terror. I call her "Monster Girl" :) A minimum of two hours of running/swimming a day is a must for her mixed in with obedience. Some are worse that others and my Nysa is THE worst. Hang in there and good luck. I sympathize :)

our boy is getting worse also

max is getting to be a hand full too. He can be a loveing boy one minute just laying on our lap, than he starts breathing hard. we know we are in for it because he starts biting at our hands or wherever. we have tried walking away too and it doesn't work. He will follow jumping up and nipping. We have had him out in the yard and he will turn and charge at us jumping up almost like an attack. Does the same thing inside. Don't know what the problem is. We take him for long walks and he can come back home tired and still gets agressive with us. We are lost for answers too. He is going to obediance school next week. we are hoping this will help. Know this doesn't help you but just know there is someone having the same problem with their baby.if we get some help will let you know.
