Hi all
I am making Lokie a personal sweater but I decided to ask what to put on the back , Im not sure I want people knowing his name he would go with anyone if he got out and they called him. I had trouble finding a sweater that fit so I am making a custom one to fit his measurments. Its a navy blue crew neck and Lokie is a white boxer so I would love some ideas. The only thing I could think of was bones or hearts. While reading the post here I found out white boxers need to keep cool in the summer and warn in the winter am I understanding the information correctly. Will a sweater be to hot on him? I take Lokie out in the boat with us but only for a short period of time his face gets red if he stays out to long. I have alot to learn about boxers but I wouldnt have another breed again.
Love my Lokie

If you don't want to put his name on it how about #1 Boxer? I wouldn't put a name on it, either, and don't even do it with my skinkids.

good luck with the sweater sounds nice. all boxers need to be comfortable in the summer as they do not tolerate heat well, all colors not just he whites, and the same for the cold. chloe sticks her head out the door in the summer and back in she comes lol. chloes wears a coat/sweater in the cold weather when we go out and she is fine . you may want to put sunscreen on your babys face ears and nose as the whites are more sensitive to the sun.

A life vest would be a good idea for the boat. The blue sweater sounds adorable against his white fur. You could always stitch a white snowflake or two on the back, but then it would be a winter sweater only. All of our boxers get chilly in the winter, especially in the snow. A lot of them wear winter coats (parkas, sherpa-lined, or even water-resistant). Titan's is quilt-lined water-resistant on the outside and he loved rolling in the snow with it last year because he found out it kept him warm when he wore it. If you get really good at making this sweater you could always outfit a closet full of sweaters and coats for your baby. I would really invest in a life preserver for your dog though if it's a regular boat you go out on, never know what could happen. And although most boxers can swim well, mine couldn't swim a lick if his life depended on it.

Lokie has a life preserver of his own its the 4 legged type we just tryed my vest to see if he liked it better and if it would float him upright. iboth vest worked but he does ok with his own. Thanks for the ideas.

Hmmmmm, he's white and you're making a blue sweater for him. I see you're from Tennessee. How about putting a big white horseshoe on the back to support your states old football hero, Peyton Manning!! :)

Just an idea....you know, me being from Indy and all. ;)
