I would look for a female. I have a 2 year old female. When we thought about getting a second I was advised to get a male. That is the best combination I was told. 2 males being the next best and 2 females having the most risk for fighting. I will say that my two love each other to death. Cleopatra just turned 2 and Cairo will be 1 the end of April. With that said now that Cairo is the same size as Cleo and is a year old,he does test the waters with Cleo over who is dominate. I think that the roles could change as he bulks out. I have to be very careful when we give them treats(bones especially). The past month we have had a few squabbles. 95% of the time they get along great. We can easily stop the squabbles but I am glad that I paid attention to the friends here at BW. I would hate to give up a furbaby after Ihave become attached to them. Good Luck in your search.

I agree - I hope to get Biff a wee sister soon - but I am still working on DH - since I work full time and he is the househusband, I guess it's only fair ;)

We've always had 2 males, always neutered at a young age, and NEVER had any problems... I'm partial to boys though- every female I've ever owned seems to have an attitude. ;)

We also have two boys, both are neutered and we never had a problem. They absolutely love each other. They never fight over food, bones or toys and they are just perfect for each other.

We got our second baby just yesterday. I wish I had done it sooner though. Our female is 15 months and 75 pounds while our new little guy tips the scales at a whole 7 pounds! Casey just wants to play but she's being too rough. It's going to be hard for the first couple of weeks. It probably would have been easier as far as they play is concerned. Good luck to you!

thank you all for your advice, it seems that the best thing to do is get biffa neutured and at what age should i get the new baby done? if i got a female would i have to have her done as well?

My two fight all the time. Play fight. At first I was concerned when Riley was little that Max was being too rough. We watched them real close. Riley held her own. She still does but your would think they were really fighting sometimes. Just really loud play. Getting a second was the best thing we ever did.

We have the boy/girl combination. I could see how a girl/girl combination would be trouble.
