I rescued a 2 year old chocolate lab when my boxer was 4 months old and have been very happy with my decision. I didn't have to come home from work and spend hours and hours every night getting the energy out of my pup. Also (knock on wood), my boxer has not chewed anything and he is now 8 months old. I say if you have the capabilities of having a second dog it is definitly worth it. I think I will always have two dogs for the rest of my life.
