Getting a 2nd boxer

hi welcome to boxer world i also have a red shes 4 years old. we are also getting a second boxer and was told it was a great idea. chloe just loves to play and run and jump and she just cant do that with the cats - not to lack of trying! imagine all the fun 2 will bring when you know how much one gives out. i cant wait for my second. we filled out the application this morning to adopt him hes all white and gorgeous. i wish you luck and enjoy the both of them.

Welcome to BW. I think double the fun with two boxers. I wish I can have another furbaby, but Gizmo is a handful.
Not that I am complaining I love him to death, but he is full of energy. He can go all day long. Good luck on your choice. Enjoy the site.

Great idea
A male/female pair is the best match as far as sexes go. (Obviously make sure they are spayed/neutered!) Female/Female is the most risky and male/male ranks in the middle. Their color is irrelavent - but I think that a brindle and fawn would be cute together
There is a lot of information on this site that will be able to help you with your decision... one piece that might be particularly helpful: introduce the boxers on neutral territory, not at your house so that your girl will not be inclined to be protective of her territory.

Be prepared
I have had 2 together for the last 6 years & they are wonderful together!
They play, and keep each other company when we are not around, and sometimes act just a husband/wife combo (yes with the ocassional squabbles)
Since both of mine are fixed, I made the move purely for them and their happiness.
Now what I always tell people is that this is not "simple math". In this case, 1+1 = 3. 2 Boxers (or any dog) take much more time for many tasks (feeding & bathing is sometimes easier), so be prepared
