Thank you for your kind thoughts and words. They are appreciated. Unfortunately Bismarck is not doing well at all and he has to see the vet again tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. His health troubles are not new. Between the beginning of July and now he saw the vet 32 times and twice a heart specialist who came (7 hours drive) just for him. Health troubles are mainly related to his age as he was healthy until he had a cerebral attack two years ago. In short they are kidney, cancer and heart related. I usually do not post about his health as I consider things like that as private. I posted about it recently just so people know why I can't be available for them (if they visited the news forum like they are supposed to do...).

I am greatful also to Olly for this terrific site and I'm sure there are days when he would like to say "forget it, I'm giving it up."

I think about it a lot lately when I do the pro/cons about BW because beside the cost, I have more work replying to people's questions (who often consider BW mods like if they were customers support) by email than fun, which is not exactely what I expect from a hobby site... When I go online now, it is often just for deleting the server logs so the site doesn't crash itself because of full hard disks, optimizing the databases so the forums and pictures galleries are not slow, removing members whose email addresses bounce and to approve pending photos. Sometimes I take a quick look at the forums and I have to say it is very tiring for the mods, and especially for me now, to see people who still do not respect the site rules when they have been warned about them on the News forum. They use, and not just a little, the site for free. Is it that hard for them to read and respect the rules too? It looks that because BW is free to use, some people think they can do everything.
For the month of October, I have to pay US$525 (instead of the usual US$445 monthly web hosting fee) because of additional bandwidth: last month we used 167GB. I am currently discussing with the web host because I do hope this number is not accurate but if it is, beside having to find a less expensive but still powerful dedicated server to run the site, I will have to take some actions to reduce the site's bandwidth in order to keep the primary goal which is educating people about boxers.
I met some very nice people here and I will do my best to keep this great and huge community alive but I can't promise.

I am sorry to hear that Bismarck's health has not been good for the past few months. We are sending out the Strongest Boxerworld Love Vibes, to Bismarck that we have ever sent out from here before lovicon

As it has been already stated in a previous post here, it is at times like these that the Community of Boxerworld really pulls together for it's membership. We personally have felt it during our most difficult time with Buddy, and I can never say Thankyou enough to you for creating Boxerworld that allowed me a community where I could share, grieve and yes finally heal and laugh again. I hope that you too, the creator of Boxerworld, will be able to let this wonderful community give you some strength as you and Bismarck deal with the issues of his health.
As you stated, you like to keep things private, but the stories you have shared with us about Bismarck has made him Very Real to many of us. Bismarck I am sure ,has put many a "loving pawprint" on many hearts here at Boxerworld.
