She will stand to be towel dried, and as soon as that's done, she takes off like a rocket around the house. At top speed, she will leap, rotate in the air, and skid across the carpet on her back. She does this over and over until she feels she's adequately dry. What a clown :D

Cookie is short for "J'Dara's Cookies N Cream" :)

All of my boxers when freshly bated have done the run dry thru the house! My old gal Greta did the "couch shimmy" http://community.webshots.com/photo/4482780/8205874NGLIeJVoZo which was her rolling dry on the couch! She would be dry then she would go sit on the other chair and leave us with the wet seat!

Sandi -

Where did you get that rubber scrubber? Please tell me more about it. Magnum especially would love the massage.

Thanks.

Rocky gets bathed about once a month or more if he is particuarly smelly. I did purchase the doggie wipes from Petsmart but they really don't do much. Great for wiping off doggie slobber (from playing with others ) but that is about it. I have a great oatmeal shampoo that I got from PS and he smells so good after his baths. He doesn't like them at all. Will tolerate it once I have him in the tub. Our showers/tubs have sliding glass doors great for those attempted escapes. He stands there and lets me do my thing then he gets lots of treats :)

Ruby gets a bath about twice a year. Mostly I keep her clean by washing her face regularly with a cloth (keeps those crusties out of the folds in her face). She also gets her feet done after a walk if she comes back with dirty feet. When I bathe her, I just get in the tub with her, it's so much easier on my back, as I have back problems. It's kind of gross, I know, but I shower myself when we are done. She's not particularly fond of baths, but she will put up with it. She loves getting towel dried though, and she gets towel dried after wet walks. I was going to ask if anyone knows of a shampoo that gets their "white" parts really white again. I've noticed her legs and feet are really hard to get back to that brilliant white.

Curry Comb

I forgot to say that I use 1 for Cookie and it works very well to lather & remove dead hair cool2icon You can find them at most pet stores or online http://www.cherrybrook.com/index.cfm on the left click Grooming Tools- then use the drop down menue on the next page and select -Curries, this will give you an idea what we are talking about. They are basicly the same kind used on horses

Don't worry Sharon I have to get in the tub with Rocky too. It is much easier on my back (even though when I get up-ouch!) and I have running water so I am not sitting in yucky doggie water. Our tubs are soooo big that it just makes more sense. I just added a pic to Rocky's page with me giving him a bath. Although by the looks you would think Rocky loves getting baths

Brenda: Rubber Scrubber

Hehehee... It's a Rubber Curry brush made by Four Paws Inc. but I call it a rubber scrubber. Bought it at Petco.. Petsmart probably carries them also. In the grooming dept. its a palm sized, flat (no handle), red and oval shaped. reminds me of a horses grooming brush without the bristles. It has one flat side (palm side) and the other side has a serrated edge.
wasn't very expensive as I recall it's been some time since I purchased it. I do find it great for brushing as I can't seem to find the right brush that my two will tolerate.

Mine absolutely love it, bath time, brush time and be sure to put it away when your done.. mine think it's a chew toy as well :)
All I do is yell "it's rubber scrubber time" and my 2 go nuts!

Good Luck Brenda, I'm sure Magnum will adore it

bathing

We bathe our way too much, I'm sure. But, I'm a neat freak and can't stand dog smell (hence my current post about smelly feet). Crash is 1 1/2 and weighs 85 pounds, so there's no way to hoist him into our tiny bathtub, especially since he HATES baths. So, we hose them off in the driveway and soap them down right there. It works well and makes for easy clean up. The hardest part is catching the younger Boomer because he knows what is coming after watching Crash get his through the window! Yes, it can be cold at times, but they get warmed up quickly after a vigorous towel dry.
