I feed her Nutro Large Breed Puppy Lamb Meal and Rice. I've fed her the lamb meal and rice since we got her. I think I will definately try the yogurt though.

Thanks alot for the advice.

Just because you have been feeding her this food does not mean that she couldn't develop problems from it any any time ;)

As was mentioned above, Boxers are not large breed dogs (they are a medium-sized breed), and should not be fed a large breed kibble. Incidentally, Nutro is not a very good quality kibble (certainly not the worst), but there are many better alternatives.

Nutro lamb and rice is quite heavy in grains, and grains are often what causes bad gas for dogs (dogs were not exactly designed to digest grains, and it is very difficult on some dogs' stomachs)

www.boxerworld.com/feeding has some great information on how to choose a good quality kibble. The Feeding Forum has some great threads as well

Thank you so much for the replies on the food. I really thought I was being a good mom, getting her what "sounded" like the best food. I wasn't sure about the "large breed". I didn't know that I didn't have to feed her puppy formula. See, that information right there is why I am a member of this sight.

Thanks again!!

When my boys were on Innova, Buster used to have pretty stinky gas. We used yogurt with his food and it seemed to help. We also made sure that none of his treats had corn, wheat, or liver in them as that seemed to exacerbate the problem. Well, when he developed skin problems, we switched his food to Wellness F&SP. He still lets noisy toots but THEY NO LONGER STINK!!! Amazing! I can tell if the sitter sneaks him something he ought not have as that will make him smelly all over again.
