Gas, Gas, Gas, and more Gas!!!!

I have just about had it with all the farting going on in my house!! I have a 14 month old boy and a 5 month old girl, and they both have horrible gas!! It seems that the girl has wayyyy worse gas than Diesel. She literaly will fart every two minutes..and its like loud audible noises!! It gets worse when she sleeps, which makes sense, but what can I do?!?!
We have them on semi-good food. I think its called Canidae. I used to have them on Taste of the Wild, which was a no grain food but it got to be expensive so I switched.

Does anyone have any advice, on what I should do?! I'll try anything! I just cant take listening to farts every night!

Stephaneew I'm sorry.. I couldn't help but laugh.. For all the years I've owned boxers, GAS was just the "norm".. UNTIL I began to feed raw, then there were only certain things that caused it.. Like turkey or beef liver with my two..
I really don't have any answers, but suspect whatever is in the food you feed, may be grains that cause it? Just my guess.
I have just the opposite problem right now, My rescue boy Rooster, seems to not be able to pass the gas and it causes him great discomfort. :(

Yeah typically gas is a good sign that the food you're feeding doesn't agree with their stomachs and is causing stomach upset. If they didn't have gas on the TOTW then I would encourage you to go back to it because obviously the Canidae isn't working with their systems. Or you can try another grain free food or maybe try Canidae's grain free if it's anymore cost effective than TOTW. If they had some gas while on the TOTW then I'd encourage you to switch back and also add in an acidophilus capsule with each meal (the good bacteria found in yogurt) which you can find in any human vitamin aisle in any grocery store, drug store, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.

BUt we have NO gas at my house , except for DH & pregnant daughter ( who blame SAM ! )

i feed TOTW its not to bad price wise here , a bag ( 23.00 ) last me 2 weeks and i add ( yummy meat left overs ) and wellness core 95% canned , my guy is a rescue and we are still adding some weight on him !

so , sorry no advice , since u have feed TOTW but good luck !

I feed Taste of the Wild and Evo (both grain free) and my dogs have no gas at all. If your dogs were fine on TOTW I would consider switching them back, even if it's more money. Does Canidae have a grain free line?

Yes Canidae now has a grain free line.

When i was feeding them taste of the wild, which is grain free, they had about the same amount of gas. Thats what puzzles me? I dont understand why they are sooo smelly.

Well, I think you are going to get some amount of gas no matter what, but what they eat could very well have an effect on the smelliness. The first grain-free food (Evo) we tried resulted in extremely stinky farts. So something in it wasn't agreeing with Darwin. There are various things you could try to ameliorate the situation (like the acidophilous capsules suggested above). I have also heard that excessive gulping of air while feeding leads to more gas - so a different bowl to slow feeding or smaller portions may help. Maybe you can try a limited ingredient food or prebiotics.

Haha reminds me of my own little fart machine of a boxer. We constantly have to experience her flatulence, snoring, woo woo song, but her pretty face makes up for it . I've been feeding my 16 month old california natural chicken meal for about 6 months now and the flatulence has been minimal.

*Hmmmm* Am I right that this article, says that you can feed prebiotics AND Probiotics too? Just curious, as my rescue boy is having a horrible time, and I am giving him Proviable. But after reading this article you posted on prebiotics.. I'm wondering if this might help him too.
