Boxer Pal
Our Maggie dog will be 5 in Februrary and I have noticed some changes in her lately.
She was once a rather hyper dog and I have seen a decline in her lately. I put it off as us having an active 15 month old daughter that steals a lot of our time. Maggie will play when asked and is still quick to run to defend an odd noise or play with her friend; our male dog Mojo.
She sleeps A LOT lately and seems bored or tired. She eats normally and has normal bathroom trips. I have noticed at night a gagging cough she gets but it's not so bad she vomits it's just 4-5 times and that's it. I have also seen her shake lately like she is just really cold. But to feel her she is definitely warm. It has been very cold here but they are inside 90% of the time.
Anyone have any ideas? They just went to the vet 3 weeks ago for their shots. Myhusband declined a heartworm test. We have them on a monthly regimine. I have noticed an increase in this behavior since that trip.
I am just at a loss. I am worried about cardiomyopathy as we had a vet in the past (one we fired) tell us both their hearts sounded bad. Mojo had heartworms when we got him from a rescue and was in bad shape for awhile, they figured that was the cause of his issues with his heart sounds to date. He is now much more active than she and he was our lazy one!
Sorry to ramble but I just wanted some advice if anyone has experienced similar.
Thanks!!
