I was wondering If people in ga want to have a boxer get toghter.. Since im new to this site I would love to meet other boxer lovers! What do you think?

Yeah, I've been watching for the next Georgia Boxer Bash. There was a Boxer get-together at the dog park in Piedmont Park not too long ago. I was hoping there would be another one before long.

Any suggestions for location & date?

P.S.
I just had a thought. Check out my following post about Georgia Dog Hikers:

This location is near Allatoona Dam on the Etowah River. I believe there are picnic tables near the river. There is a Boy Scout trail to the top of Vineyard Mtn. for those who wish to enjoy an invigorating hike. The trails also go very near Allatoona Lake. Just a suggestion.

I think that's a great idea! If someone wants to throw out some dates I'm sure everyone would love to participate.

OK, I'll throw out the first date suggestion.
How 'bout Saturday, Oct. 16 or Sunday Oct. 17?

What would be a good start time? I guess we have to start late enough in the day to give folks with a long drive time enough to get there.

How long do the Boxer Bashes usually last? Is it an all day event or do they only last a couple of hours?

I'll try to be there. My girl's still a young pup and that's a pretty long drive for me, but I think it will be fun if I can make it.

Since we've got some folks coming all the way from Columbus and Augusta, which I think is about a 2.5 hour & 3.25 hour drive, respectively, how does everyone feel about this:

Time & Date: 2pm on Saturday, October 16
Location: Allatoona Dam

This is merely a suggestion. I by no means wish to dictate a Time & Date. If some other Time or Date works out better please let us know.

It seems everyone is fairly happy with the location, so I'll see about putting some directions and possibly a map together. As far as what else to bring, I would suggest a cooler of drinks, water, & snacks. If you wish to hike the trails, you might want to bring along a fanny-pack or daypack, some hiking boots and a hiking stick. Also, I find a change of clothes nice after a long hike. ;) Since we will be close to the river and the lake, towels to dry off our furkids might be a good idea.

Let me know your thoughts.

Just a question is there a fenced in area here for the doggies to run around in? In order to be let off the leash my guys Cassius and Otto have to have a fenced in area!
We may need to skip this one is there is not!

Sorry, but I'm not aware of any fenced area at this location. It's just a park, not a dog park. Once you get far enough down the trail, there are no worries about traffic, so you should be able to let your dog(s) off-leash if you wish.

While in the picnic area, I believe the dogs should be kept on-leash or staked out. How does the rest of the group feel about this? If this affects your decision to attend, perhaps someone can suggest another location.
