Ok, now I was wondering how many of you out there allow your babys on the furniture?
Hubby says No, No!nonoicon Now I don't mind it. Here's the kicker: Disney our 8lb. (soaking wet) Yorkie is 8.5 years old and is allowed on the furnitue b/c he doesn't shed. Oskar sees this and tries so hard to get up there and snuggle in a ball cause it's so comfy! Lately I've been catching Oskar sneeking up and curling into a snuggly ball on the couch! I just crack up and tell him "daddy's gunna be mad so you better get off!" He looks at me like aw shucks mom! Please!!!??? What can I do?
I sit on the floor every night so he doens't get sad or jealous. He just snuggles up to me and snores away!

When we got Lex a year ago, I was adamant about not letting him on the furniture, but have since caved in. I am going to buy a new upholstery machine and deal with it. We have just recently started letting him out of his crate for short periods of time, and I know that the whole time I am gone, he is on the couch looking out the window. He LOVES watching what is going on outside all the time.

The boys aren't allowed on the furniture when Daddy is home, but guess where they are right now while I'm typing away in my office...

yep, the couch

Sometimes at night Greg will pull one of the boys into the recliner with him or I'll pull one of them onto my lap on the sofa.

Ahhhh!! I was just wondering the other day if our dogs get jealous of each other. I let my beagle jump up on me to give me kisses since she can't reach and she's only 30 pounds. But I don't let my boxer jump on me because she can already reach and she's 50 pounds or more and knocks me and other people over! Do you think my boxer is jealous of that??

My babies are allowed on the furniture; we just got a leather couch partly so it would be easier to keep clean and allergen-free. Just a damp cloth gets it clean. But the leather is cold, so the dogs really don't like it. They are so spoiled; we put a couple towels on it so it's not so cold for them!

I thought when we got Jackson that I wouldn't let him on the furniture. That lasted about 2 seconds. I love cuddling with my babies on the couch to watch a movie or something. They sleep with us too though. Its my philosphy that since they are my children, they should be allowed any place skin kids are allowed. Unfortunately, everyone doesn't see it that way. I haven't found a restaurant that allows Kamra and Jackson to go with...but I'll keep looking :p

I am totally the one that caves! Aren't there many beautiful slip covers out there!?!?
Hubby doesn't want him up stairs either but if the baby gate just happens to come down I don't rush over to it to put it back up!:D Oskar loves to lay under our bed. Could it be b/c his brother lays there?!?!

We also started out with 'absolutely NOT' on the couch and bed....but as most will tell you we have given in and have to admit we love the cuddling while we watch a movie on the couch or sleeping....although it does get a bit crowded!!

I let mine on the couch, chairs, and my bed! I don't let them in the guest bedroom though. I just keep the door closed to that room.

We went from, "Stay off the sofas to OK you can have one sofa, to OK you can have both sofas but not the chair, to you can lay your precious head wherever you want King Tyson". kingicon And since we got Kyzar they pretty much tell us where we could sit.

Our 2 are allowed on certain sofa's and not on others and it works out fine, in our TV room there are 2 love seats which the dogs are allowed on, I have slip covers on both of them and throw them in the wash once a week. And the slip covers are in colors/patterns that hide the hair well.

Then in our living room (the good room where we hang out with visitors) they are not allowed on either of the sofas in there. And they know it and rarely try to get up there.

I am lucky that neither Finnegan or Nessa shed very much, our previous boxer did shed quite a bit and had a much thicker coat but both Finnegan and Nessa have very thin coats. I couldn't imagine not letting them on the couch as I love to snuggle with them while watching TV at night :)

They are also allowed on our bed but at night during the week they have to sleep on their own beds in our room and they come up in the morning and we let Finnegan sleep with us at the weekends. Nessa never stays on the bed that long, she is not used to it and hasn't been with us long enough to know its ok :)
