Fur version of a typical teenager?

I sometimes wonder if Thor isn't a skin kid in disguise. He is going through his teenage stage and he is following right along with the other teenagers in the house. I practically have to drag him out of his crate in the morning. He stretches on his way out, yawns, stops to scratch, stretches some more, takes a few steps and plops down on the floor. I open up the door for him to go potty and he just looks at me. I put his food down, he sniffs it and walks away. I even try to mix it up a little and add different stuff to his kibble that he likes.

What worries me is two days/week when I don't bring him to my office he won't have the opportunity to be picky and he won't be able to eat until somebody gets home several hours later. Should I be worried...or is it just a phase? I don't want him to get too skinny.

To me it sounds unusual, if this has been going on for a while I would consider getting him checked out.

Its probably nothing but its better to be on the safe side.

Having raised three skin sons and living with my 3rd boxer, I'd say that the unusual is the usual. As long as he is still playing, skin and coat look good, no loss of weight, I probably wouldn't worry. If those things are changing, have the vet look him over.

As for the morning routine, that's my Indy every day from the day we brought him home. Still he's nuts when it's playtime. Gotta love the boxer attitude, dontcha?

Ha! The boxer strech, the long look at the door that leads to outside, followed by a whif of breakfast. And the only one active is YOU! I hear ya and feel ya! We have those mornings also, only difference is we have a female and after she finaly goes she runs into our room and plays hide n go seek under our bed.

LOL- the stretch in the morning

Oh, yeah...he plays and he eats dinner. It's just the morning routine. DH was off work today and I called to check on Thor and he said Thor kind of nibbled (hours later) and when he went out he was doing his typical boxer burns in the yard and taking DH for a walk by the pant leg. He looks great, I'm just wondering if they go through growing spurts like our skin kids.

I have 2 teens right now and they are big ol lounge lizards! They bounce around morning for a couple hours and they lay around all through mid day and in the evening become more active again. They haven't really been interested in food much either but they sure do try and get to any people food left around! If they can't get at anything, then they give up and eat the food that is there for them!
