Funny Question (kind of embarrassing)

I have an intact male we sort of show, and tonight we were laying on the bed while talking to my husband and I noticed his testicles were, well, flaky. Is this normal? I asked my husband but he was not very helpful and would not tell me if this is a normal occurance amongst those with testicles. He actually rolled his eyes at me and walked away. So if this is normal, I would be happy for feedback...I kind of wanted to ask here before I called the vet if this is a silly question.
