I got Razzious Domini about 3 1/2 months ago. A little white make boxer. He thus far has been a little dream dog and has become a wonderful playmate to Dazey Flowerpetal my 1 year old female.

He is about 5 1/2 months old now and has started working the "who is boss" angle with Dazey trying to mount her at different times like any male dog will do.

He also enjoy the daily licking of himself clean.

However to date I have yet to see his penis come past the foreskin. I have never really thought of it until my wife mentioned it. I will call the vet later and ask, but was wondering if you guys seem to recall what age you would normally have seen "whats that pink thing" comment you get from little kids etc. I am around him most of the day and have yet to see it.

Now that I feel dirty discussing worried about seeing a dog's penis...I will hide and wait for answers.

He's too young. Give it time and stop worrying about it. He's too young for sexual things and if he gets excited enough while playing it may or may not come out.

Next time you're at the vet, have the vet check and see (just to be sure) that there is enough skin room so that the penis can come out. You can also sheath back the skin and see for yourself there is no blockage.

The only silly question is the one not asked.

Thanks Dan

I am not looking for him to be sexual. Just have typically seen something sooner. Heck some pups seems like about 2 months or so it will occasionally show up. Was just confirming.

I dont think he meant "sexual" as breeding or anything..just sexual as when a dog gets excited sexually. Same thing as a man who is excited sexually..we all know what happens. Also dogs can and will get excited sexually even if neutered...At least the males Ive seen did.

I think he is too young as well.

Don't dogs unsheath(????) themselves when they are really hot too?? I thought I had heard that before, or it could be one of those things that I thought up all by myself and don't really know if I've heard it before or not...foolicon

lucky you!
i wish i could see less ofbaileys. he was neutered 2 months ago and it made no difference. he has a daily hump at his bed and it gets all covered in fluff which usually needs removed (eugh i know)
it also sometimes makes an appearance when hes having a poo (wierd i reckon! dont like to think about the reasons behind that one!)

I know how you feel Kactus.. I also see alot of Apollos. And he was neutered over a year ago.. He wasn't really humping Venus that much until recently. Now, it's like he looks at me and if he thinks I'm not looking at him, he starts humping her. Or if they start running around like crazy outside, as soon as they stop running, he starts. And his also shows when he's pooping..

Whew! Thanks Kactus and LuvMyDog...I thought Herkie's was the only one who made an appearance when he pooed!I'm glad to see we aren't alone! But as for it appearing...it doesn't really do so that often...thank goodness. And he was probably well past 1yr old before he did.

One day when we(me, H-dog, & ex-bf) were sitting in a drive through...bf looked at Herkie and said "put that thing up!"...I of course rolled...."I said you're just jealous because you can't ride around with yours hangin out!"foolicon

But on a serious tip...I wouldn't worry too much...and like Tulsa-Dan said...have the vet check it next time you're in!

my dog is 7 months old and i didn't see his "lipstick" come out until he was about 5 1/2 months and i only saw it a couple of times. he has since been neutered and still mounts other dogs...his penis doesn't come out that often. but i wouldn't worry about your pup... he's a little young for you to be concerned

Scrapper too. I think it has to do with the crouching position they get in and the muscles tensing up back there when they are trying to "work" out a dump.
