frozen treats

I have started giving my two boxers frozen
treats. (Yogurt and peanut butter) Someone
told me this is hard on their kidneys. It
crystallizes in their kidneys and causes
damage to them. She said yogurt is bad and to
not even give them ice cubes. Does anyone know
anything about this?
Thanks, Sheralyn

Completely Boxer Crazy
I don't know anything about anything frozen crystallizing in their kidneys. It's usually melted entirely before they digest it anyways, so I don't think it's anything to worry about. Then again, I'm no doctor. I would ask this person who their source is so that you may research it yourself. I honestly do not think there is any scientific basis behind this person's comment.

We give our girl Frosty Paws, ice cubes, yogurt, p-nut butter, etc. and none of it has been detrimental to her health. She is a heappy and healthy 19 month old. Now there are things out there that a dog should not have such as onion, chocolate, green parts of tomatoes, rhubarb leaves, etc. but I've NEVER read anywhere about the things you mentioned.

That's the first I've heard of frozen stuff crystallizing in the kidneys. Buddy eats ice, and frozen pb and stuff, and it's never bothered him, he loves it.:)
