Is someone with a partial boxer allowed here? I adopted a dog from a shelter who seems to be Boxer/Rhodie; doesn't matter to me what he is, he's just great. Having had herding dogs for the 15 years prior to Red coming into my home, I know nothing about caring for these dogs and I've got questions.

Welcome to Boxerworld! It is wonderful that you adopted your dog from a shelter! I can't wait to hear more about him. This is a great place to find answers to your questions - boxer or boxer mix!

Questions

If your Boxer sleeps in your bed with you, does he/she sleep tucked up as close to you as he can possibly get, sometimes nose to nose?

How cold is too cold for a Boxer outside? (My herding dogs would stay out when it was in the 30's, but I know I can't do this with Red.)

How do you exercise them when it does get really cold? Because I'm at work during the day, when I come home Red just wants to play (after he eats, of course). I'm concerned what we'll do when winter really settles in.

Thanks - and if this is not the right forum to ask these questions, please point me in the right direction.
