I started giving her Ester-c for immune system health. i looked around for vitamin c but couldnt find it. Should I add RAW eggs to her food? I thought this was a no-no, or should I scramble or boil them? ANYTHING that might help her feel better I am willing to do.

I now have a multi-colored couch that I am calling "Shotzes multi-colored dream couch" hahaha Its a sectional so it took three queen size sheets to cover it. Ones blue, ones purple and ones a flannel sheet thats brown with lots of bear and moose on it. I dont think it would look half bad if it wasnt for the flannel sheet...throws the color scheme WAY off. lol

To my knowledge, raw eggs are just fine. I have heard some opinions that the albumin (spelling?) protein in the egg whites is harder to digest uncooked, but I've heard other opinions that raw egg whites are just fine. You could also just feed her the yolks raw, and add the cooked whites if you want. I feed Lael an entire raw egg about once every other day or two, and she's never had any problems. :) Maybe someone with more knowledge in canine nutrition can help clear up the discrepency.

My vet suggested adding any type of Omega-3 & 6 fatty acids to her diet to help her skin heal. We fed her salmon oil, but there are also plenty of other fatty acid suppliments that help support the skin, coat & immune system.

Hope any of this information can help. :)

My 2 babes had mange- we got a new puppy and then they passed it on to our older dog. We saw that it got a lot worse after we treated him, we took him back to the vet and she said that in almost all the cases she sees, they get worse before they get better because they are all going to the edge of the skin. We also put vegetable oil in his food with also the omega fatty acids and that seemed to have helped with his sking. But now our little girl is worse, and we are taking her in today to get checked up on- just to make sure it isn't anything else. She also told us at first that it looked like ant bites and told us to get Tavist with Clemastine, we haven't seen any improvment- but we have also only been on it for about 10 days. Our vet (whom we love and trust) said that it might take many doses of treatment till mange seems better! I know what you are going through and it is so hard to see them in so much pain and you not being able to do anything about it! I have cried my share of tears on this issue also. I hope your baby gets better and I will keep you posted on what my vet says today. I am unsure about how long until the scabs clear- I will also ask my vet that! I will get back at you!

I read somewhere and my vet said it was good too to mix their dry food with a can of sardines. It has a lot of fish oil and vitamins that help their immune system. Not to mention they love it!!!!! Maybe this will help. Glad your baby is better :)
She has a good Mom
