Canine Freestyle is also called Dancing With Dogs. What better breed to ham it up in front of a crowd than a Boxer:cool:

I don't know of anyone that is doing freestyle with their boxer, but I'm sure that a boxer would be great at it. I would go for it.

Besides the spectators getting a huge thrill from a boxer ... the boxer simply loves clowning for applause. You go for it and post updates for us please.

I LOVE FREESTYLE!!! I am currently doing it with my terrier and having a blast. It is soooo much fun for the handler and dog because unlike other dog sports there are no rules or strict guidelines to follow for your routine. You just emphasize what your dog does best. My guy is a maniac and loves to "boing" into the air, walk on his hind legs, spin and turn in crazy circles, etc. Freestyle is a sport where these crazy things are encouraged and the dogs LOVE it. I compete in agility and train several times/week. Since I have started freestyle I have noticed that is he more intent on my commands and picks up on my body language so much better. I know that is a weird 'bonus' to freestyle, but I was pretty excited to see the improvement!

Last night I had my boxer girl Layla along at freestyle (crated) since I had agility with her afterwards. After class the freestyle instructors all drooled over her because of her movement and her 'wigglebum'. I hadn't planned on doing freestyle with her since she isn't as hyper and animated as my terrier. The freestyle trainer said "Foo-eey!" It is all about picking the correct music and building a routine to suit the specific dog. I am planning to start with freestyle with Layla after Christmas.

I have to say I was skeptical with freestyle at first but it is a BLAST and your dog learns very fast!
