My boss brought me the following ad that was on the bulletin board at the local hardware store.

Free AKC male boxer, 1 year old, 55 pounds, not neutered. Crate trained and good with kids. White with fawn around eyes. Too big.

Too big?! What the heck did they expect? People like this really p*ss me off. Once again total ignorance of the breed. Do some research, people!

My boss thought I might be interested. Although I want a white boy, DH would either divorce me or shoot me if I brought home another baby. And I don't think I could sneak this baby in!

I did send an email to a friend who put her boxer down over the summer due to old age.

Poor baby. It's a shame people like this even bother bringing a puppy into their home. I hope your friend is interested.

Do you think if you show dh the ad he'll feel so bad for him that he'll want to bring him home? My dh would. He was looking on one of the boxer rescue sites this weekend, he had one all picked out and ready to put the app in because he thought he looked sad and he and Winston could be best buds.

Who ever got the dog must have known it was going to be a big breed.
I don´t understand how people can just cast away an animal that was obviously a member of their family as it says "good with kids".

I do hope that you friend is interested and this poor baby finds a loving home.

I just don't get it, too big! :( Boxers are a medium breed anyway! Everyone says ooh you have big dogs and I think really? :confused: They don't seem big to me. There's a guy who goes to my local dogpark and he has a Rottie/Dane mix :eek: Now that is a big dog! he's 175lbs! Compared to that my guys are tiny, I don't care how big they get I love them and i'll make room! ;)

Unbelieavable. Are they going to post an ad on the bulletin board when their kid gets "too big"? Morons :mad:
