Super Boxer
Carolyn beat me to the suggestion on getting in touch with the rescues :). I'm so glad you called. I'm also sort of partial to the rescue groups myself since I also work with them. I agree this will give you boxer-time plus give the hubby some time to adjust. I hope the other baby (sorry don't know his name) you guys have is doing ok and not grieving too much over Cesar also.

Boxer Insane
When I lost my first boxer 5 years ago both my husband and I needed several months to grieve, but after a couple of months I was ready to get another boxer however my husband needed longer so as a compromise we started fostering for rescue instead and of course after we had a few fosters we did eventually ended up adopting. Those fosters helped us though our loss as much as we helped them on their way to a new life.

Now we have two boxers both of whom were fosters at one point, we don’t foster any more but we are still very actively involved in rescue. Check out www.boxerbuddies.org

Boxer Buddy
Hi all,

Checking back in with an update. I have found Boxer Buddies and I'm connecting and getting a start on helping boxers in need. I'm volunteering my time any where I'm needed and we're actively looking to adopt. We hope to meet a 4 year old brindle gal next week -- wish us luck :)

My husband and I have agreed that we're on board for everything except fostering. He feels it would be too hard to be a temporary home. I feel that if we wanted to adopt any boxer we were fostering, that would always be an option.

What are your experiences? Anyone care to share on the topic of fostering?
