Found his secret potty place!!!

I have a three story home and rarely go upstairs to the third floor. This morning I found about five nice big piles of poo and pee spots! I freaked! He must be sneaking his little butt all the way up there to do the deed. I let him outside every two hours or so and I can't figure out when this has gone on. He normally sleeps in his crate but off and on I will let him sleep with me or one of my children. I always know where he is (yeah, right!) Anyway, this blew my mind and I am wondering if there are any ideas for putting a stop to this. Would bell training be an option?

Helping with Secret Hidding Places

I also have a 5 month old Boxer, his name is Baxter. I have found that Baxter lets me know he has to go by the burts of gas he lets out. If I smell more than 2 within a couple of minutes I know it's time. Yesterday I was on the phone and started smelling the gas and took him out, well I thought he was done. When I came back out from my office I noticed he left a surprise on the carpet next to the door. WOW!!! I cleaned it up and did not make a fuss. What you might want to try is closing the doors to any rooms that he shuold not be in and always being aware of where he is.

When I can't see Baxter, I squeeze on of squeeky toys, call his name and he know to come.

Your dog has probably assoicted that spot as his so you need to get them away. Also puppies get very exicited and I have realized that the more playing they do, the more they need to go out. During the day they are sleeping and not eating, but once you get home, they are more active, dirinking more, and eating so once every 2 hours may be to long to hold it.
