For those who find it hard to let go...

:( It made me cry too and made me think of my Sheba. I havent had to put a pet to sleep in over 7 years, and I dread the day I will have to do it again. But now that Im older I understand that it really is whats best and I cant be greedy and keep them here for my own emotional state while they suffer.

thank you for posting that-it's really beautiful, although it just about killed me reading it. I cry at least once a day for our Duchess who left with our help just 2 weeks ago. Although I KNOW it was the right thing to do, it was still the hardest thing I've ever had to do. But we were with her and holding her through the last breath...we wouldn't have had it any other way. We will never forget you Duchie girl.

I recently put my baby down and it really helped me know that I did the right thing!

Its been 7 months since Jake's passing and I'm still having a hard time letting him go. Today I was going through the album and I came across a picture of Jake playing with a teddybear from my collection and immediately tears started to run from my eyes. I felt the same pain I felt that dreadful morning when I got the phone call. The poem brought tears to my eyes...

That poem was ver beautiful. Unfortunately there are so many of us at BW who have had to put a loved one down and this poem helps to ease that pain.
