Super Boxer
Hi everyone,
A little background: Lego had an episode of "boxer colitis" (hate that term btw) and lost about 4-5 lbs. We were able to mostly control it using fiber (psyllium).
He was previously eating Wellness Core (fish formula) exclusively. 4 cups per day. After the colitis I introduced Sojos - the complete turkey formula. It all went good.
Fast forward to now, we're on our 3 large bag of Sojos and Lego has not gained any weight. Right now he is eating: 1 cup of Wellness mixed with 1.5 cups of (wet) Sojos twice a day. I started adding cooked rice for bulk a few days ago AND started giving him a small lunch consisting of 1/2 cup kibble + 1 cup (wet) Sojos.
He still won't gain weight. Another thing is that he poops AT LEAST 4 times a day. 5-6 times a day is not uncommon.
I just feel like he's not absorbing anything... the more we feed him, the more it comes out the other end. And he's starting to get the "soft serve" types of stool that I usually associate with over feeding, yet he won't gain any weight!
I tried upping the amount of kibble -- more stools, no weight gain. I tried upping the amount of Sojos, same thing. I am now trying the rice and adding a small lunchtime meal... but so far that's not working either.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thoughts? So frustrating.
Thanks in advance.
