Bam-Bam was 1 year old when I brought home Tru and Levi. He was really worried and concered about me when I was pregnant, following me and helping me whenever and where ever he could. When I finally brought home the babies I went in the house (my sister was watching the newborns) by myself and greeted him, kissed him, and explained to him that I was okay. After that, we brought the twins in and let Bam sniff them. He thought they were amazing! He licked them softly once and wanted to do it a lot more, but I didn't want him to scare the babies. As my son and daughter grew older, Bam grew more loving over them. Hes so protective over them and sleeps with them almost every night.

I hope your Trinity loves your baby.

My male boxer was six months when we brought my daughter home. I was at the hospital for 5 days so he really missed me. Everything has gone great with the two of them. We actually got a female when my daughter was 5 months old and I was worried a little how they would react but it has been wonderful. Dog was the second word that she has learned and believe me she uses it constantly!!!!:D

Thanks i just happened upon this thread and everyone had great info. we won't be trying for our first skin baby for a while but the info was very informative even for introducing the puppy to people moving in. One of our friends will be staying with us for several months and we need to get Duke used to another man in the house.

Congrats to the other expecting parents. I am due in 2 1/2 weeks.
Nestle is 15 months now and the poor girl gets stepped on my be
constantly as she has become my shadow.

We have put the bassinet in our room already so Nestle gets used to it.
She sleeps in our bed.... Well, listen to this....

Nestle for some reason went into our bedroom last night and about 5 minutes passed so i went to see if she was OK (she never leaves us for that long) and I found her laying on the bed with her little face resting on the side of the bassinet
just looking in. It was the cutest think I have ever seen.

I am so excited for her to be a big sister... I can't wait for my 2 babies to meet.

good luck to everyone expecting!!

My female was almost 2 and my male was 6 months old when I brought my baby home. My whole pregnancy my female was the one who knew I was pregnant and she would sniff my belly and when the baby would move she would whine and make faces. When I brought home my daughter, I had been gone 3 days, and during that time my husband would bring home a couple tshirts the baby had worn so they could sleep with it and smell to their content. When I brought the baby home I never kept the dogs apart and my worry was really with my 6 month male who is very energetic. But I should never had worried. He may jump all over adults and go crazy, but with my daughter (and other toddlers) he is as careful as can be. Putting the baby in one of those bouncy seats was great, and I wouldnt lay her on the floor unless the dogs had been in awhile and were chilled out. My Male Noahs favorite spot was where ever the baby was. I guess as for my female, the baby was interesting, but she still loves her mommy. My female who is 4 now still doesnt show as much interest in the baby as my now almost 3yo male, but if shes upset or crying then they are both beside themselves. You can always find my male about 2 steps behind my daughter, and everything she does is the most interesting thing he has ever seen. She takes his toys(and he loves his balls) and lures him all over the house. She just doesnt understand that every once in awhile she should throw it for him. I can go outside and hell tug away all day and not give me the ball, but my daughter only has to touch it and he releases it. I could go on all day about what a great relationship my dogs(especially my make) have with my child(and family, I also have a 9 and 12 yo stepdaughter), but there is not enough time to write about it all. People, who knew how crazy I am about my boxers, are still asking how I could trust 2 large dogs(both 70 pounds) around my daughter, but all I say is I worry about what she could do to them.
