I highly recommend Sensible Choice by Royal Canin. It has one protein source (chicken) and one carb (rice) and is recommended for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Cosmic had huge issues with this, and would have bouts of colitis, but this food has been a godsend- nice firm poo and he has never been healthier or more giddy since we have had him on it. We have everyone on it now- including our show girl Echo- and they all look so healthy and have shiny, gleaming coats. It only has one filler-beet pulp- but I can live with that. It is about $31.00 for a fourty pound bag. Check it out for sure.

Second the Sensible Choice...very good ingredient list plus Jazz will eat it straight from the bag (won't do this with many brands), or with the little extras like yogurt we mix in normally.

Had some trouble with Natural Balance Duck & Potato: though she never hesitated to eat it, there were increasing episodes of vomiting 1/2 hour to 1 hour after feeding, to the point of following every meal. When we tried going to just boiled chicken and rice for a few days to see what was up, no problems, so I think it may have been something in that particular food.

The ingriedients are almost the same... so what makes Wellness so rich?
I really don't know. For all I know, Innova could be just as rich as Wellness. What ingredients make Wellness or any other dog food rich is unknown to me. May be a good question to ask someone with more knowledge at the pet supply store, or even your vet (although my experience is that vets don't always know about these high quality foods; mine doesn't, but he sure thinks Lael looks good ;) ). Let me know what you think of Innova and how it goes. Hopefully in a few weeks it will help the upset tummy.

You may also want to do a search in the BARF forum about how to feed for a sensitive tummy. You could temporarily feed a good BARF formula to calm the tummy and gradually move into a simple, quality kibble. Just an idea... I bet the BARF forum will have more info.

Good Luck,
Cat & Lael

We had the exact same problem and now Titus eats, Nutro Chicken Meal, Rice and Oatmeal and he loves it and we don't have anymore issues!
