We rescued a one year old boxer who is on the skinny side. His foster family was feeding him the Blue Buffalo food so we kept his food the same. They did 2 cups each- twice a day. I know Boxers fart a lot but its really bad with Milo- like constant.
So the vet reduced his food to 1 and half cups. He does not fart as much on the 1 and half cup. But I need him to get some meat on his bones too. Any suggestions? I need some help with this. More food and more farts, change his food to something else maybe or reduce the food like vet said and have him pass less gas?

Watch dairy and grains. My guy will stink up the house something fierce if we feed him crackers or cheese. Most treats you buy are almost entirely grain based, so watch those.

The Blue Buffalo food is ok, but does tend to have high grain content. We early on found this site Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble and have ensured we stick with 5 or 6 star food for the past 5 years. We keep the grains low and protein content over 55%. This helps with his gas and otherwise helps with his tender tummy.
