It has happened on only a few occasions but Luther has gotten into something outside I believe and it made him sick and he was coughing and then foamed up at the mouth. I was so worried the first time I rushed him to the vet. I fed him some blan foods and he seemed fine but it has happened twice after and I talked to someone who had boxers and said theirs did it a lot too. I watch him outside so he doesn't get into plants and such which seems to be the problem. Has this happened to others?

froth

My pooch often froths when she is outside...especially when playing hard. She gets all excited and begins to froth. I think her favorite is to wait until she gets inside to shake it off  If she gets a bit too warm and waits too long to get a drink, she froths. Or if she makes herself a little grass salad, she froths. She may not even need to vomit--she just likes grass from time to time. So, I guess what I'm saying is that Mia often gets all frothy around her mouth--she is a silly freak. My friends don't believe that she typically doesn't drool because when they are around, she gets excited and....you guessed it....froths!

Riley does the same thing... frothing at the mouth. It happens when she is running around outside and has not had any water in awhile.

when my schnauzer ate frogs (or toads or whichever) that were in my parents backyard, she would froth like crazy. but she never had any other bad symptoms. maybe luther catches frogs while you're not looking.

Lexie gets the foam from her mouth when she runs like a banshee for 10 minutes, it also forms around her nostrals some times.

Scrapper gets all frothy from playing hard, and also when he gets a lime and plays around with that. Big, long, gooey, gobby strings of froth - but nothing you can do about it, though.
