Foaming at Mouth & throwing up

Hope someone can help. Luke had a urinary tract infection and was on antibiotics for about 10 days. We finished up the pills and a day later he was throwing up right after he ate. He did this two days in a row. I called the vet and she said to keep an eye on him, maybe he ate something that didn't agree with his tummy or just ate too fast etc. This morning, Luke was snuggled on the bed with BF after our walk. Luke was cleaning himself and started gagging. He jumped off the bed and started to throw up (but nothing was coming up). He did this a couple of times trying to throw up. I looked at him and he had alot of foam around his mouth. I know Boxers foam but not sure if this is normal. I am concerned. Matt tells me that dogs throw up all the time (maybe he ate something bad) and we just keep an eye on him the next couple of days. He is fine now, just sleeping. I am the type that seems to call the vet for everything. Any advise or thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd Call

I would definitely call the vet again. Even if he DID eat something that didn't agree with his tummy, I would think it would stop after a day. If it were me, I'd be on the phone!!!! Just my opinion.

Tae is very prone to throwing up if she eats too fast. She cannot eat her kibble too fast b/c I put her kongs in the bowl to slow her down. When I get home from work though, I give her a little water and then a couple small treats, which she eats TOO quickly. I hate to be gross but yesterday as we started our walk after her little snack, she threw up the water and all three treats. The treats are small, but she hadn't even chewed them up. Ugh.

Regarding the thowing up episode this morning, had Luke had his breakfast yet? Boxers are prone to upset tummy if it's empty too long. That's why I give Tae that snack after I get home from work. I also give her a small treat before bedtime and first thing in the morning. If Luke had an empty tummy, it would not be too abnormal (based on my experience) for a "foam barfy" (that's what I call it!). Also, Tae frequently gags after cleaning herself. I think it's a combination of gagging on fur and possibly swallowing some saliva the wrong way.

It Luke eats too fast, I would try putting something in his bowl to slow him down.

Thanks guys for the advice. Come to think of it, Luke hadn't eaten anything yet this morning when he foam barfed. He could have been really hungry, its a long time from dinner to breakfast. I'm gonna try putting his Kongs in his bowl too. And I will call the vet if he does it again tomorrow. However, he seems to be back to his old self now

That's good to hear (that he seems back to normal) Hopefully is was just an upset tummy!
