We have a comfirmed case of a fly-by licking. I had a friend over to help me work with Diabla on her company manners and Dee was trying to play. She sat by my friend and licked her ears then went off looking for something. All of a sudden Dee comes fly across the room jumps right by my friend and Dee goes past, she turns her head and licked my friend across her face. My friend cracked up and laughed. She looked me a said that was a fly-by licking. LOL

We still need to work on company manners.

Just reading the title of your post made me laugh!

Good thing your friend found it funny, too. (I can imagine my mom in that situation - she would not be laughing.)

:LOL: I thought my Niki was the ony one to do fly-bys! lol, I'm so happy to hear I'm not alone. I could be sitting down doing homework or watching TV and out of nowhere she'll jump up and give me a big wet one :rolleyes:

I am lucky my friend is a dog person and she like Dee. Boxers are little acrobats. I have never seen any thing like it. She was in mid air and never stopped, plus she landed perfectly. :)

Too funny!! My boys are just the opposite of each other. Beau does really quick licks and runs away. Bailey will lick me and stop mid-lick with his tongue on me and just stare at me. It's kind of funny because it's like he forgets that his tongue isn't in his mouth anymore! I think the term "fly by licking" is so cute.

HAHA!! That is so cute! I can just picture it! Charlie Paper loves to give kisses, and I can imagine him doing something like that. It was funny the other day because usually if I say "Charlie kisses" he'll give me kisses. Well we were at the boyfriend's house & Charlie adores my boyfriend's roommate, so I was playing with Charlie & I said "kisses, Charlie, kisses" and he moved his nose closer to my face, but didn't kiss. I said it again, and he gave me a "puppy-dog" face and then looked at Jon & back to me. I started laughing because if he could talk he would have totally been saying "not in front of the guys, Mom." Just like that kid who won't give his Mom a good-bye kiss in front of his friends. It was so cute.

LOL! I was calling it "drive-by licking". Trace LOVES to kiss kids, and she has no concept that they don't want to be knocked down and smothered with love. Therefore, having her around them is a challenging job. She has perfected the art of drive-by licks, as she runs past tongue out and gets them before anyone can stop her.

I won't let her read this post, else she'll take to the skies for air-attacks.
