flop or circle?

i have two boxers rocky and mimi. rocky tends to circle around and around a half dozen times before he lays down anywhere, but mimi just flops her body down on the floor with reckless abandon! she just "flops" on the furniture, the floor, her bed, anywhere-- often without looking exactly where she is going! it is too funny when she does it because then she will sigh as she reaches resting position as if to say "thank goodness i made it!"

does your boxer circle or flop?

Grunt definitely prefers to circle. He won't lay down anywhere until he has circled at least 3 times, especially on the couch. The only time you might catch him just flopping down would be after playtime at the park and he's just too tired to move.

Ty is a flopper, bordering on thudder. Sometimes he drops so hard that I hear a thud-I'm worried he will hurt himself one of these days. He is my crazy boy!!

Tyson does both -- however he only flops if he's really, really tired. He only tends to flop if he's cuddling next to me. If he's laying on the couch, floor, etc. he will circle in both directions before laying down. Crash tends to flop, but occasionally will "dig" at the area he's laying down in.

Bentley is a big time flopper. He will lay anywhere. He laid down in the middle of the dog park today like no one was going to run him over. He's a big stretcher too. He likes to lay on his sides with his feet sticking straight out, or on his belly with the back legs behind him. Doesn't look too comfy to me but what do i know?

Chaos is another that will do both. He'll only flop when he is really tired. Otherwise he will usually circle about 3 times before he lays down.

Spud is a big-time "flopper" ...absolutely anywhere will do...as long as it's on me! Gotta love those pointy little elbows in your side :rolleyes:

I also have one of each...our Boxer Greta has to circle, and circle, and circle!! Beau our Lab on the other hand is a HUGE flopper. He does something that really makes me laugh too, if Greta is doing her circles preparing to lay down next to me, Beau will run and just flop next to me and then give her a look like, well, if you didn't have to take so long to just lay down you could of sat here first. I swear they are worse than skin kids!!

 

[Mya's_Mom]

Mya does both. If it is just a quick rest, she flops right down, but if she is settling down for a good nap or night time, she circles about a million times! I'd be nauseous if I turned that many times!

 

[Baby Bella]

I guess Bella would be considered a "circle flopper" because she will circle 2-3 times and then flop into place and then let out a huge sigh. So actually, she is a "circle flop sigher". :rolleyes:
