Fish Lips?

I don't know if any one else has a boxer that does this but Gabby will sit or stand in from of me and give me what we call fish lips. SHe raises her head to a 45 degree angle and howls at me. She changes the pitch and town of the howling like she is talking. WHen she does this her lips wrinkle up a whole bunch and she gets catfish face. The whoel event is now called "getting fish lips". Sound familiar to anyone else?

Oh, my goodness this is the famous boxer "Woo Woos!" You will read a lot about it on this web site and see a few pictures of boxers caught in the act 'woo wooing". It is so much fun to hear and watch; Magic use to do it and Deeg does it. Deeg reminds me of Chewy (sp?) on Star Wars.

Related but unrelated

I saw the title of this thread and thought that someone had a question on how our Woody got the nickname of Fishlips.

His is not the same story. As a pup, he was diagnosed with food allergies and we put him on an all fish diet. He gets what is called Elinora's Royal Treats, Iceatlantic Cod fishskins. They gave him the worst fish breathe and he always wanted to share a bite while it was in his mouth and would bring it into bed with him or he would want to give kisses after he ate one. Thus, the nickname Fishlips. We thought that it was the most unique nickname so you can imagine my surprise when I saw the subject of your thread.

Just thought I would share. Thanks for the laugh.

Oh yes! Woo woos are a famous Boxer trait! You should do a search because there are some members who posted links to videos of their babies doing this!
