First day without Harley

I took Harley to get neutered & to have 1 dewclaw removed today (he's also gained 4 #'s in less than 2 wks). I felt so bad leaving him there :( especially when he tried to sneak out the door following me. I came home & went back to sleep & it felt weird having the whole bed to myself without a dog's head laying on my shoulder. Isn't it silly how when our furbabies aren't here the house feels so empty?
I called the vet a little while ago to check on him & they said he's doing fine so I'll be there to pick him up when they open in morning. Luckily I work tonight so I won't sleep in an empty bed again LOL.

I lost my 23 month old to cancer on 4/28/02 and was always leaving him at the vets. I always felt terrible doing it. You can't explain why you left him somewhere and let someone hurt him. It's the worst feeling isn't it? I hope you can go get him soon. Hopefully he will be so glad to see you he will forget about it. It's very difficult to get to sleep when they are gone too. So much like having children. Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't even begin to imagine how hard that must be.

To Jake's Mom

I'm so sorry to hear about your Jake. Are you planning to get a new baby when you're ready? I lost my little Emma girl on 5/13/02, and it just killed me. She was only 3 1/2 months old. We got Stella two weeks later, and it has really helped me to feel better. I know that she can't replace Emma, but the joy that Stella brings me helps me to forget about the sadness I feel for Emma. There's just something about snuggling with a little baby that is the most healing thing in all the world.

Good luck to you, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
