Completely Boxer Crazy
Samson completed his first training class tonight. He did so well! He sat when he was supposed to and got "down" when he was supposed to. The only stumbling block was the command to get back up. 63 pounds, 10 months old, and my arm hardly can "help" him get up
I'll work on this command, and all of them, all week. He did well walking on the leash too! He quickly realized that he was not to bother the other dogs.
I wanted to ask everyone that has had attended a class such as this, was your boxer shy too? Samson wasn't shy until the class sat on the floor and the trainer took each individual dog into the center of the room for one on one training. As the minutes rolled by, and the other dogs took their turns, Samson inched his way behind my back. He was glued to me with only his mushy-mushy snout looking over my shoulder by the time his turn came. I think the trainer sensed his shyness and chose to make him last. That was emotional for me. My baby was shy!! Funny too!
Samson was like a different little boy in that class. He was different coming home in the truck and even different when he first came into the house. He wasn't upset, it just made me think he was in deep thought. I wonder if that is possible? A boxer in deep thought? Ha...ha...ha. I love our special boy! Now he and his "sisters" are having their nightly boxer bash and we are all back to normal.
I will have great difficulty doing 15 minutes of homework with him each day because whenever one gets attention, they all want attention. I'll figure it out though. I am excited about all of this! I feel good about making our good babies even better!
Just wanted to share,
Mary, Bob, Samson, Delilah and Tyra (Zipporah)
