Finally out of the Cage

I have to post this!! I'm so darned proud of Apollo!! A month or so ago, I decided that in the corner where the HUGE dogcage is, I'd like to put up a real Christmas tree!! So, I decided to just leave Apollo out and see how he did!! For the 2 hour stints, he did really well!! We even had to leave him alone for longer and nothing really seemed to be touched!! WooHoo!!

One major test the night before Halloween was to be left alone for quite a few hours with dozens of sugar cookies at the back of the stove top!! I was a little worried, but hoped all would be well and we weouldn't have to take Apollo to have his stomach pumped!! I'm happy to report that all the cookies were intact and Apollo grinned from ear to ear when we opened the door!!

We have yet to put him back in the cage at all, in fact, it's blocked right now and we can't even open it!! I look forward to taking it down and finally having a dog cage FREE living room!! I'm so happy that Apollo has decided not to be destructive!!!

Thats wonderful,just don't get angry if he gets a little bored,cause when that happens its destruction time, make sure he has toys & treats to keep him busy. I know first hand about that,I've had 2 sofas & 2 chairs destroyed,can't count the # of shoes,papertowels,trash cans,lamp tables & the list goes on. Boxer Pal, Hanley

Keno is almost 6 mos old now and we've been trying the "no cage" thing when we leave for just a short while...so far he's done great (we've never left him for longer then two hours tho)...it's funny tho because when we leave both our puppies sit in the window and just watch (actually Daisy sits on her perch (back of the recliner) and Keno sits below her on the floor) ..and when we get home they're both still sitting there in the same spot...makes us wonder if they've been there the whole time just waiting for us to come home !! We've tried the no cage thing at night but it didn't go over near as well because Keno wants to come into our bed in the middle of the night...we only have a full size bed and there's not room for two humans and one moose..haha!!
