Hello, I can't wait to get my puppy, but Im a bit concerned about the size. Im planning on getting a female ,I understand that they are smaller than the males. Is that true?

The norm is yes, females tend to be lighter and shorter than the males. But not by a huge amount.

What concerns you about females size?

In almost every species the females are smaller (height and weight) than their male counterparts.

The size of the dam and sire of the litter should give you a picture of how large or small your pup will grow.

I weighed my boxers today, Ruby is 56lbs at 1 year, Angel is 54lbs at 8 months and Luka is 57llbs at 8 months. Luka is the same size as Ruby now but I think he's going to be a bit bigger than her when he's fully grown :)

I get my 2 weighed at the vets as we don't have any scales in the house (not a bad thing, I'd be on them all the time ;))
I don't think Zeb's going to be tall because both his parents were even shorter than Lola. He is almost the same height as Lola now though at almost 9 months so you never know.

Thanks guys for the helpfull info, this will be my first time having a larger dog I think Im up for the challenge. If I can handle an active Jack Russell Im sure I can handle a Boxer.
