Hello I am looking for a forever home for Ginger who is about 1 1/2years old fawn w/black mask weights about 50lbs very strong girl. I rescued her about 4 months ago I believe, she was given to me because her owner(who had just gotten her) found out she had heartworms called me up and told me she had just gotten her about 2 weeks ago off a guy that said she has all her shots and heartworm med and advantage for fleas, well she took her for a check up I guess and come to find out he messed with the papers and she only received her rabies,he added everything else on there,so anyways she said she could not pay for her treatment,which I could not either but I was willing to take her in and find a way so I placed an ad in the paper for her and said she has heatworm and needed treatment,of course I had tons of calls thinking it was just the pill, well I finally had this lady call name Mary whom I had talk to before when I had a boxer for adoption but the dog was adopted before she called but anyways she called me again and knew right off it was me and I knew it was her..well she really wanted her but did not know if her boxer Annie would get along with her or not so she said she wanted to help me out the best she could and paid for her treatment even if she could not take her she is like me just loves dogs and wanted to help Ginger get better. Well we went through the treatment,everything went great and then we did a dog intro later that did not work out well at all,Ginger and Annie got into over a toy and scared Mary to death and now she is afraid to try again which I do not blame her I would be afraid too so now I am looking for someone to give her a forever home. I would like her to be an only dog because she plays to rough/is toy aggressive and I have no clue what type of life she had before she came to me. And NO CATS she will kill them. I am working on her jumping because she gets really hyper when she sees you and jumps up,she was not around people all the much so now that she is she wants your attention all the time,every minute she wants to be with you,she was kept outside when the girl got her from the guy she was out in a run( very sad) so she is kennel training right now. She knows sit but will not stay sitting very long right now, I am attending classes with my 3 1/2 month old boxer and I am using what I learn on her as well but she is such a strong dog shes a challenge but very eager to please and I love her but I have five dogs that are mine which I can not let her around because I do not want any dog fights. I try and help atleast one boxer at a time that needs me and its a wonderful job I have and I love every minute of it. Ginger will need to be rechecked for her heartworms in about 4 months the vet said to make sure they are gone but other than that she is up-to-date with shots flea meds and she is on heartworm at this time, I will have her spayed before she goes to her new home so I know she will not have any puppies.
